Dr. Jeffrey T. Hodrick

Jeffrey T. Hodrick, MD, provides advanced orthopedic care to patients of all ages at Southern Joint Replacement Institute in Nashville, Tennessee. From the latest robot-assisted surgeries to direct anterior hip replacement, Dr. Hodrick uses the latest innovations to ensure his patients have the best outcomes possible.

Dr. Hodrick received his bachelor’s degree from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, and earned his medical degree from Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine in Hershey, Pennsylvania. He completed his residency training in orthopedic surgery at Duke University Medical Center, where he received the Duke University Health System Strength, Hope, and Caring Award in 2006. 

To further his skills and knowledge, Dr. Hodrick completed a fellowship in Adult Reconstruction at the University of Utah Medical Center in Salt Lake City. Dr. Hodrick is an expert in robotic assisted knee replacements and direct anterior hip replacements, and educates other surgeons on these procedures nationwide. He also provides medical and surgical care to patients with a broad array of orthopedic injuries and conditions, including fractures, trauma, and sports injuries. He is a pioneer in outpatient joint replacements and promotes a rapid recovery for all of his patients with adjunctive therapies.

Brittany Montgomery, NP

Brittany Montgomery is a Nurse Practitioner specializing in orthopaedics at Southern Joint Replacement Institute. She serves as Dr. Hodrick’s nurse practitioner. She joined the SJRI team in 2018 after working at the David Price IMAC Regeneration Center in Brentwood, TN .

Brittany received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Auburn University at Montgomery in 2009. Upon graduation, she worked as a Med-Surg nurse at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Jesup, GA for 1 year. In 2010, she was accepted into the University of Alabama at Birmingham’s Nurse Practitioner program and received her Master of Science in Nursing degree in 2012. While pursuing her MSN degree, Brittany worked at UAB Highlands on the orthopaedic floor providing care to total joint replacement patients. After obtaining her MSN, she worked at UAB Sports Medicine and then transitioned to UAB Highlands Orthopaedics Department. Her main goal is to provide superior care for our patients and improve their quality of life!

 Brittany resides in Nolensville, TN with her two dogs, Ellie and Sophie. She enjoys spending time with family and her dogs, traveling, attending country concerts, and watching Alabama football!

Erica Zimmerman PA-C

Erica Zimmerman is a Physician Assistant specializing in orthopaedics at Southern Joint Replacement Institute. She works collaboratively with Dr. Hodrick and Dr. Morrison. Erica has been working in orthopaedics since 2017 with a focus on total joint replacement. Prior to joining our team in 2020, Erica worked at Campbell Clinic Orthopaedics in Memphis, TN. Before specializing in orthopaedics, she worked in primary urgent care granting her a strong background in comprehensive medicine. One may see Erica in clinic, the operating room, or providing cyroneurolysis for knee pain. She is proficient in intra-articular injections and evaluation of the shoulder, hip, and knee. Erica holds a strong focus on our outpatient program by providing history and physicals for all our patients and seeing you after surgery.

Erica received her Bachelor of Science from Indiana University in Human Biology with a focus in Human Health and Disease as well as two minors in Biology and Gender Studies. In 2016, she graduated from Christian Brothers University in Memphis, TN, with her master’s in Physician Assistant Studies. Prior to becoming a PA, Erica could have been called a “Jack of All Trades”. She volunteered as an EMT, worked as a Home Health Aide and Dialysis Technician; she even taught physical education to children K-6!

Erica currently resides in Lebanon, TN, with her husband, Nick, and son, Edison. She enjoys traveling, photography, and antiquing. She is a walking jukebox and loves desserts, especially chocolate chip cookies and lemon bars!

Sara Stedman, RN

Sara is a registered nurse, functioning as Dr. Hodrick’s “nurse navigator” since December 2014. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, TN with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing in 2008. Sara is certified in critical care, charge nursing, and nursing preceptorship.

Since her time with SJRI, Sara has been deeply involved with the provider's Opioid Stewardship Program with a focus on ways to control patients pain without an overuse of opioids. Together with Dr. Hodrick and others in the HCA community, they have developed an Opioid Prescription Take Back Event “Crush the Crisis” which has become a nationwide success. Dr. Hodrick's team has also developed a widely popular Outpatient Joint Replacement program for patients that meet the criteria. Their focus is patient experience and outcomes. They want to get you back to doing the things you love!

Sara is an avid lover of animals and celebrity gossip. She's married, residing in Clarksville, TN with 2 energetic toddlers.
